You Can Now Download RotW's Code

One of the main reasons I helped start RotW was because I'd have an excuse to code a website from scratch. RotW is a great project to work on, and I'm not sure I'll ever give up on it completely. (I even just renewed the domain name!) I've always had interest in sharing the code to RotW, and possibly give back to the community a little, but I've been putting it off until now.

Hopefully someone out there will find this code useful. I decided on the GPLv3 license, because it seemed to align with what I'd like RetroCMS to become ideally. I encourange anyone out there with PHP knowledge to give it a try. I'll gladly help anyone who's interested. And if you submit any improvements, I'll gladly add them to the repro, and subsequently to RotW itself.

I could already download the code! =V

But this is still very cool. Who knows, maybe retrocms will be the next Wordpress!

I don't have super-high hopes (especially since it's so user-unfriendly), that'd be really cool though.

This is a neat idea. Maybe someday, you'll lead the way in a sort of renaissance for retro gaming sites with RetroCMS. It'd be cool if a bunch of people started retro review sites with RetroCMS as their base.

While I'm sure RetroCMS is far better than my own code, I like having the satisfaction of knowing that everything on my site was made by me, code and all.

It's like the difference between making your own cabinet and buying one at the store. The store bought one is probably better in every way, but gosh darn it, I built that thing with my own two hands. It's my baby.

I know that feeling all too well; it's the reason why RotW doesn't use wordpress or the like, and thus why RetroCMS exists in the first place.

>While I'm sure RetroCMS is far better than my own code
That, however, is probably not true.
